报告人简介:
Prof . Umberto LOMBARDO born in Catania on 02 January 1945. He received his PhD from Catania University
in November, 1969. His research topics include nuclear physics: nuclear interaction, correlations and
giant resonances in nuclei, nuclear interaction, heavy ion collisions, nuclear matter, nuclear
astrophysics: nuclear matter theory, neutron stars, superfluidity and superconductivity: electron pairing,
He3, pairing in nuclear systems, transition BCS-BEC, and computational physics: parallel computing.
From 1974 to 1984, he was an assistant professor in theoretical physics at Catania University. Then he
worked as an associated professor in theoretical physics during 1984-1999. Since 2000, he has been
a full professor in nuclear and subnuclear physics. He retired in 2015, but still continues to work as an
associate researcher in INFN-LNS at Catania, Italy. From 1994 to 2009, he had been a coordinator in
many Scientific Projects, such as an European Network in the framework of EU programme di ‘Human
Capital and Mobility’, the theory group at the Southern National Laboratory of INFN (National Institute
for Nuclear Physics), an european project in the framework of EU programme di ‘Asia-Link Programme’ ,
and so on. He worked as an editor in Physics of Neutron Star Interiors, Nuclear Methods and the
Nuclear Equation of State, and Isospin Physics in Heavy-Ion Collisions at Intermediate Energies Nova
Scientia, etc. He has about 120 publications, and also as a referee for Physical Review C, Physical
Review Letters, Nuclear Physics A, Physics Letters, etc.
